Click here to view Biodiesel dry wash demonstration using
Amberlite ™ BD10DRY ™ Biodiesel Purification Technology.
Over the past 3 years Green Fuels Ltd. have been trialling various ‘dry wash’ solutions for biodiesel
purification. Many of those tested consisted of magnesium silicate powders that require the use of high
levels of reusable filtration and often leave sub 1 micron particles in the fuel that can increase engine
wear and result in injector clogging. We have therefore been unhappy to market such products.
Recently we have been testing AMBERLITE™ BD10 DRY™ developed by ROHM and HAAS. Amberlite™
BD10 DRY™ eliminates unwanted impurities from biodiesel made from any feedstock. It will remove
soap and catalyst traces and will also eliminate residual glycerol. We have trialled the product
ourselves in the UK, with selected partners, and at a 35,000,000 litre pa plant using our technology in
Germany. We have also trialled the fuel with engine manufactures to confirm its suitability.
Advantages of the Green Fuels Biodiesel Purification system:
- No water required
- Maximises yield
- No expensive filters required
- 1 kg of AmberliteTM BD10 DRYTM is on average capable of treating between 900 – 1600 kg of biodiesel
- Low running costs (< 1 pence per litre of biodiesel reduced)
- Easy maintenance – only requires recharging every 22 days
- The system is easy to integrate into all new or existing batch and continuous biodiesel plants
- Simple to use and automate
- Biodiesel treated with AMBERLITE™ BD10 DRY™ can easily meet all Biodiesel standards including ASTM and EN standards
